Hosted by the Energy Committee Chair Rick Truscott and Vice-Chair John Zadkovich

Energy is gaining increasing attention around the world amid the call for rapid and deep decarbonisation to avoid catastrophic climate change related impacts. Hong Kong joined C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group, a network of the world's megacities committed to addressing climate change, and is now in the Steering Committee of C40. Developing climate friendly, reliable and affordable energy supplies and embracing state-of-the-art energy efficiency technologies are the definite directions, but the implementation roadmaps are yet to be clearly defined in the coming years.

Meanwhile, international energy markets continue to react dynamically to geopolitics, economic predictions and aspirations to new technologies. Various energy infrastructure investments and clean energy transformations are also underway in the regions. Hong Kong, as both an energy consumer and financial centre, must stay tuned to these developments.

You are invited to this 2019 Energy Committee Planning Meeting on 21 January 2019 (Monday) at 12:30 – 1:45 pm to discuss events that would help AmCham members appreciate the complexities of energy businesses and prepare for the upcoming challenges and opportunities.
