He is a Member of the Court of The Hong Kong University of Science & Technology, a Member of the Council and a Member of the Court of The University of Hong Kong. He has been a Member of the Legislative Council for the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region representing real estate and construction functional constituency since 2000. He has been a Justice of the Peace since 1995, was awarded the Silver Bauhinia Star in 2007 and the Golden Bauhinia Star in 2013. He is a director of the HK Mortgage Corporation Ltd.
