Update on the Mutual Recognition of Funds between the Mainland and Hong Kong
12:00–2:00pm. On 22 May 2015, the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission and the China Securities Regulatory Commission signed a Memorandum of Regulatory Cooperation on Mainland-Hong Kong Mutual Recognition of Funds, which would allow eligible Mainland and Hong Kong funds to be distributed in each other's market through a streamlined vetting process. The Mutual Recognition of Funds initiative is a major breakthrough in the opening up of the Mainland's funds market to offshore funds.
It will also open up a new frontier for the Mainland and Hong Kong asset management industries, and make available a wider selection of fund products to investors in both markets. Ms Christina Choi, Senior Director, Investment Products at the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission, will explain the Mutual Recognition of Funds initiative, and share her views on the impact of the initiative on the financial industry in Hong Kong, the Mainland and the rest of Asia. 12:00 - 2:00pm (Lunch included) Hosted by the Financial Services Committee
