College Education in the New Era
2:15 – 3:30pm. The American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong is honored to host President David W. Oxtoby of Pomona College to share his insights on college education in the new era addressing business needs trends. Pomona College, CA is ranked No. 1 of Forbes’ 2015 annual rankings of America’s Top Colleges, along with a number of other colleges including Williams College, MA (No. 2), Swarthmore College, PA (No. 7), Amherst College, MA (No. 9) and Brown University, RI (No. 8) which has a strong liberal arts focus. President Oxtoby will outline the mega trends of education in particular the significance of 'liberal arts” focus – which has become a premium in an extremely fast-changing world driven by technology.
He will also elaborate on raising up leaders in different professions and fields with global mindset, diversity, engagement in community, and other relevant areas to fulfill Pomona College Founders' vision 'to bear their added riches in trust for all'.
