Gateway to the STARs: Want to sell your services outside Hong Kong? Using APEC's
STAR Database as a key to entering new markets
Trade & Investment
8:00-9:30am. So you have a small professional services firm, and you want to work with a client in Vietnam or Australia or Korea? The APEC 'STAR" Database provides an easy-to-use one-stop route to discover whether and how a services firm like you can compete to work in every one of the 21 APEC member economies. The STAR Database now covers eight services sectors: financial services, professional services, telecoms services, computer related services, distribution services and transport and logistics services, education services and mining and energy services.
You can quickly and simply discover the licences you need, tax rules, visa requirements, foreign exchange issues, incorporation requirements – and the restrictions that might be in place. You are invited to a hands-on workshop to introduce the STAR database, and help members discover how it can help them in expanding business opportunities across the region. The Workshop will be led by David Dodwell, head of the Hong Kong-APEC Trade Policy Group, who has worked with Australian APEC officials who have developed the database over the past five years. First 15-20 minutes is for networking Light breakfast included Hosted by the Trade & Investment Committee
