12:00-1:45pm. Spain, and particularly its Real Estate sector, was deeply affected by the fallout from the Global Financial Crisis. The extent of the ensuing recession decimated the employment market and halved both rents and capital values for commercial property.
Residential properties in some areas were even harder hit. However, investors returned to the market in mid-2013 and since then we have seen record levels of investment in commercial property. Yield compression has been a feature of the market since then but rental levels have yet to rise significantly, pointing to further growth potential in the market. The residential sector has also witnessed a surge in interest from overseas investors, largely a result of legislation granting residency permits for real estate investors.
CBRE and Baker & McKenzie have joined forces to produce an Investment Handbook for Spain which offers guidelines to invest in Spanish real estate. The handbook covers real estate market in addition to providing key legal and tax information. In this event, senior executives from the Spanish operation of both firms will present this handbook and also offer expert advice on real estate opportunities in Spain and how best to take advantage of these. The attendees will be given a copy of the handbook.
