Our panelists represent a range of views, from current students and recent alumni to individuals involved with career services and admissions.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Henri Arslanian is Director of Prime Brokerage Business Consulting Services at UBS Investment Bank, where he assists Asian, European and U.S. hedge funds set-up in Asia and trade the Asian markets. A New York and Canada qualified hedge fund lawyer by background, he is currently a student on the Global Executive MBA program jointly administered by Columbia Business School, London Business School, and Hong Kong University Business School. Speaking 5 languages, including French and Mandarin Chinese, Henri holds a Masters in Chinese Law from Tsinghua University, a Masters in Transnational Law from the University of Sherbrooke as well as a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Montreal.
Rienk Brouwer is Senior Manager at Solveigh Mergers & Acquisitions, where he specializes in cross border mergers and acquisitions involving Western and Chinese enterprises. Rienk is a qualified Dutch solicitor and holds honors degrees in Law and Business.
He is a recent graduate of the Chinese University of Hong Kong MBA program and also studied at the VU Amsterdam and Tsinghua University in Beijing. Before moving to Asia, Rienk practiced law at Holland Van Gijzen, a large Dutch Law Firm that has a strategic alliance with Ernst & Young.
Carole R. Bird is Director at Apply Ivy, an organization which focuses on advising candidates living in Asia on how to successfully apply to top colleges and graduate schools in the US. Carole earned her MBA from New York University's Stern School of Business, an experience which included five months of study at Tsinghua University in Beijing. Prior to joining Apply Ivy in 2008, Carole worked as a consultant for Accenture in New York and Hong Kong.

Joseph Palumbo is Head of MBA/MSc Career Services for HKUST. A life-long learner, Joseph has a marketing degree from York University & MBA from The Schulich School of Business, and is a Fellow of the Society of Management Accountants of Canada (FCMA) (the highest national designation awarded for leadership). Prior to joining HKUST this year, Joseph was the Executive Director of Career Development for Schulich School of Business at York University where he led a team of 24 Global Career Experts in 5 countries.
