DETAILS Renewable energy (RE) is widely regarded as the most environmentally friendly solution to meet electricity needs. With interests in power sector throughout the Asia-Pacific region, RE is currently taking up 18.3% of CLP Group generating capacity. In Hong Kong, we see more than 100 grid connected RE projects in CLP's supply area and the recent completion of the territory's first commercial-scale standalone RE system on Town Island. This talk will examine, through CLP's experience, the feasibility of RE generation in HK and discuss the opportunities for its wider application.
