8:00-9:30am. Today's power sources and electrical grids are under pressure because of pollution, vulnerability, and the cost concerns. Increasingly, distributed generation will change this status quo, as failing costs in technologies like solar and energy storage threaten incumbent technologies. To respond, forward-looking utilities are pivoting towards distributed generation technologies with pilot projects and investments.
However, much uncertainty remains about how quickly distributed generation is coming, in what form, and through which business models.
This presentation will prioritize key technologies and market trends driving the increased deployment of distributed generation, analyze disruptive startups and larger companies that are well-positioned for the grid of the future, and present unique business models that will be key to tapping into opportunities and driving growth in distributed generation.
