Professor Jian LU will analyze the global nuclear energy development after accident of Fukushima. The policy trends in different countries will be studied. The nuclear energy will still be very important as a key source of low carbon energy solutions. It is particularly true for the region of Pearl River Delta.
However, due to the highly concentrated energy consumption feature of the region, the safety and the reliability of nuclear plants may become very challenging in an area with the fastest nuclear energy development in the world for the coming decade.
