Getting Governance Right: The Big Questions and Good Practices
7:45 – 9:30am. Great boards and great sports teams have something in common: they get the fundamentals right! This workshop provides trustees a review of the essentials of governance as well as discussions of how to add even more value to their work. With content that's applicable for elected, appointed and hybrid board compositions, we will discuss the 'third rails' of governance and use case studies to illuminate difficult issues. Topics covered will include fiduciary requirements, working with leadership teams, strategic planning, evaluating organizational and leadership performance and staying out of trouble as a trustee.
Essential for new trustees and appropriate for experienced board members who are seeking a refresher or an update. AmCham invites you to join us on January 14, 2016, the meeting starts from 8:00 – 9:30am as we welcome Dr. Marc Frankel, Ph.D., Senior Consultant and Partner in Triangle Associates, who will cover best practices for individual trustees and boards and identify the modes of governance that will add the most value to your organization.
