Jonathan Buford

Founder of Makible

Cheap, good, and fast, pick all three. Jonathan Buford comes from a traditional product development and manufacturing background, having spent a decade in and around the toy industry in development, marketing, and sales roles. His expertise is in electromechanical system design, but typically plays the role of connector in a multi-disciplinary team. He has been involved with the Hong Kong tech startup scene since 2009, when he was one of the original founders for StartupsHK. On the rebound from his first online startup, he founded BootHK in 2010, bringing co-working to Hong Kong and providing an accessible space for the startup community to grow.  He currently spends his time running Makible, who created the MakiBox A6, the world’s most affordable 3D printer, which is made in Hong Kong. The next stage for the company is to expand the local manufacturing resources and develop new and innovative adaptive manufacturing technology.
 
Kevin Leung , an engineer by trade with a MBA degree from Oxford.  Kevin has a broad experience in dot com, Manufacturing, Entertainment and Finance.  Before he started his company Muku Labs, Kevin worked as a financial advisor in Mainland China, helping entrepreneurs in capital fundraising.  Kevin ran an successful Kickstarter campaign on the world's first Android and iPhone selfie remote, Shuttr, last year.  The project was beautifully executed with on-time delivery and premium quality delivery.  Shuttr was a popular Xmas gift on 2013 and with immerse coverage from ABC, CBS, Fox and Yahoo.   
 
Chris Place is the design lead and product manager behind Native Union’s recent Kickstarter success JUMP, raising over $372K in just one month JUMP, the charging cable that charges itself sits in the top 0.6% of all kickstarter projects to date. A trained Industrial designer Chris cut his teeth at the legendary Tangerine Design Studio in London before moving to Asia to work in the Consumer electronic before Joining Native Union an ambitious HK based product design Start-up.
