Joel Lin

President at Sandler Training Hong Kong

Mr. Joel Lin  is the Founder and President of the Singapore and Hong Kong offices of Sandler Training®, a leading provider of a comprehensive set of sales, management, leadership, coaching and related training  programs. Sandler Training® believes producing lasting change in people only comes about through ongoing reinforcement. It works closely with its clients to customize training solutions that meet their  specific needs.

Mr. Lin brings a wealth of real world business experience to his training engagements. Having started and managed many companies, he recognizes the importance of sales skills in sustaining and growing businesses. Mr. Lin combines his business knowledge with his passion for people to deliver training that is innovative, insightful and practical. He has trained MNC’s, leading professional services firms  and government agencies.

Some of the businesses Mr. Lin has started or managed include:

• Founder and Managing Director of Green Mountains Investments Pte Ltd, an investment advisory company
• Executive Director of Imagine Group Ltd; Executive Producer of The Contender Asia and The Challenger Muay Thai; and Co-Executive Producer of The Biggest Loser Asia
• Managing Director of Kapient, an executive search firm that was the result of a merger between KPMG Executive Search in Singapore and DP Search
• Co-Founder and Executive Director of a JV with CIMB, the leading investment bank in Malaysia, to focus on investment banking deals in the Telecommunications, Media and Technology sector

Mr. Lin’s other work experiences include being a consultant with The Boston Consulting Group (in the Los Angeles office) where he worked on assignments in the US, Korea and Canada. As an International Projects Manager at Monsanto, a leading US life sciences company, he led projects in North America, Latin America, Europe and Asia. He was then the Director of Growth and Commercial Development at  Solutia (a Monsanto spin-off), based in Singapore, where he identified, evaluated and negotiated joint venture and acquisition opportunities in Asia Pacific. Prior to business school, he was a Platoon Leader and Assistant Battalion Operations Officer in an elite rapid deployment force in the US Army.

Mr. Lin has an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business and a B.S., Aerospace Engineering, from the US Military Academy at West Point (graduating in the top 2% of the class). He has completed some of the toughest schools in the Army such as Ranger and Airborne School.
