As Asia's demand for energy increases, with traditional fuels such as coal and oil remaining the majority of approved power development projects, what key environmental and social issues should IPP's and energy agencies be aware of?  Sean Purdie, based on his power sector development experience, will provide
an overview of the applicable standards and the main environmental and social issues that are often associated with power development projects.  Sean will outline the main emerging considerations including climate change related issues, Greenhouse Gas emissions and other air pollutants, managing biodiversity impacts and sensitive habitats for the people that depend on them, land acquisition and resettlement implications.
