2:30-4:30pm. During the symposium jointly supported by AmCham Hong Kong and Hong Kong Trade and Development Council, Mr. Song Jinli, Deputy Director General of Wenzhou Bureau of Commerce, and his team will give an update on the latest opportunities about trade and investment in the city, both inbound and outbound, and also respond to the concerns of foreign companies interested in doing business in the city.
Wenzhou, a southeastern coastal city in China's Zhejiang Province, is home to one of the most dynamic private economies in the country, and the manufacturing hub for electric, apparel and footwear, auto and motor accessories, and pump valve products. With the GDP hitting 461.98 billion RMB last year, and the annual growth rate of 6.6%, 7.7%, 7.2% and 8.3% during 2012 to 2015, the city's economy is on the rise.
Wenzhou is also famous for its unique status as a testing ground for China's financial reforms.
In 2012, China's first Comprehensive Pilot Financial Reform Zone was set up in the city, and in late 2015, the city was chosen to be one of the six pilot cities for QDII2 (Qualified Domestic Individual Investor).
