Hosted by the Communications & Marketing and Apparel & Footwear Committees Hong Kong is as one of the world's premier shopping destinations for luxury fashion apparel. With dramatic flagship stores as well as clandestine and opulent boutiques, the world's most prestigious brands such as Chanel, Louis Vuitton, and Burberry have contributed to Hong Kong's status as the home of temples of consumption.
But it would be obvious to business persons and shoppers alike that there is the beginning of a dramatic shift in Hong Kong's retail landscape. Within recent years, there has been a substantial expansion of stylish but affordable apparel stores as 'Fast Fashion' competes with haute couture for the city's brand image.
How will these trends change the way locals and visitors think of Hong Kong, and how will it affect the fashion customers' shopping behavior?
To respond to these observations, Dr. Peter Lau, Chairman and Chief Executive of Giordano International Limited, will share his perspective on the current state of local fashion retailing.
Founded in 1981 and listed on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong in 1991, Giordano is the most venerable Hong Kong fashion label of men's, women's and children's quality apparel under the brands of Giordano, Giordano Ladies, Concepts One, Giordano Junior, and BSX, each with its unique market positioning and identity.
