AmCham is proud to launch its Face to Face with Chinese Mayor Series Program. During this series AmCham will invite Mainland Chinese Mayors to Hong Kong and introduce their city and network to its members.

The inaugural luncheon event will be on Friday, August 9, at the Renaissance Harbour View Hotel, partnered with Huai'an City Government of Jiangsu Province with guest speaker Dr. Yao Xiaodong(江蘇省淮安市委書記姚曉東), Party Secretary of the CPC Huai'an Municipal Committee.

At the luncheon, Dr. Yao will give a speech and introduce the business environment and opportunities in Huai'an City. Alongside Dr Yao, Mr Chen Tao, Vice Mayor of Huai'an, Ms. Wang Lili, Head of the Foreign Affairs Office of Huai'an and heads of the local NDRC, economic development zone will also be present.

About Huai'an City

Located on the North Jiangsu Plain, Huai'an is a municipality under the jurisdiction of Jiangsu Province, with an area of 10,100 square kilometers and a population of 5.38 million.
Huai'an has a history of over 2,200 years, being most famous for its fish, rice and the headstream of renowned Chinese Huaiyang Cuisine. In the past decades, Huai'an has developed into an industrial city with a complete range of industries. Five traditional key industries in the city are chemicals, machinery, textile, metallurgy and tobacco. And the three major industries, i.e. salt chemical, IT and special steel, aimed at achieving annual output of RMB 100 billion Yuan by the end of 12 th Five Year Plan are taking good shape now.

To further upgrade the local economic structure, the Huai'an government official look forward to meeting with representatives of the following sectors on this luncheon:
