8:00am-9:15am. Hong Kong banks saw a decline in profits compared to the previous year, mainly impacted by the economic slowdown, regulatory and cost efficiency pressures, according to KPMG's 27th annual publication of the sector.
In this event, we will discuss the current outlook for banks in Hong Kong and key highlights from KPMG's latest annual report. The latest report provides an analysis of key performance metrics for the top 10 locally incorporated banks in Hong Kong.
It also analyses key trends and developments in a number of areas, including technology-related challenges faced by financial institutions, the increase of non-performing loans in mainland China, regulatory reporting requirements and increased obligations in relation to money laundering risks, in respect of tax evasion .
Business attire is required by the Hong Kong Club, no jeans or sport shoes.
