On November 12th, the Third Plenary Session of the 18th CPC Central Committee (known as the Third Plenum) approved a decision on 'Major Issues Concerning Comprehensively Deepening Reforms' at the close of their four-day meeting. The Third Plenum released a list of 60 unprecedented reform items, and decided to set up two new organs: the Central Leading Group on Comprehensively Deepening Reforms and the State Security Committee.
Major questions that now need to be answered are: ● What are the political issues behind the economic reforms? ● How will the two new organs operate? ● What economic growth prospects and further reforms can be expected in 2014?
Please join us for a panel discussion with Standard Chartered Bank Greater China Research Head Stephen Green and Chinese University of Hong Kong's Chinese Politics analyst Willy Lam, moderated by Fortune China publisher Tom Gorman to discuss the outcome as well as economic and political implications of the Third Plenum.
