APEC 2013: How APEC Can Support Your Business Objectives
Trade & Investment
12:00 - 2:00pm (First 15-20 minutes is for networking) Lunch included Since its inception, APEC has focused keenly on the needs of the business community. Uniquely among international organizations, APEC maintains strong ties with the business community through the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC), to which each member economy appoints three representatives. In 2013, Indonesia is hosting the APEC cycle (the first time in almost 20 years). It promises to continue APEC's commitment to achieving free trade as well as to take on new issues such as infrastructure connectivity, health finance and the 'blue economy".
This roundtable presentation will feature Hong Kong's longest-standing ABAC member (Anthony Nightingale), the Executive Director of the HK-APEC Trade Policy Group (David Dodwell) as well as views from the U.S. Consulate in Hong Kong (Mark Lanning). We will describe the APEC process in general and ABAC's specific objectives during the Indonesia host year. We hope you can join this important dialogue about how APEC can benefit your business.
