Building on President Obama's policy toward Asia, and as elaborated on by Secretary of State Kerry during his recent visit to the region, the United States is committed to robust and multi-faceted economic engagement in the Asia Pacific.
Ambassador Young, a seasoned American diplomat with over 30 years of experience, will discuss the U.S.
economic engagement with Asia, including the opportunities afforded through the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation forum, the Trans-Pacific Partnership and the U.S.-China relationship. He will also survey the United States' history of partnership and friendship with Hong Kong, exemplified by the regular visits of high-level U.S. government officials and the expansion of U.S.-Hong Kong trade and investment, which have helped to further Hong Kong's important role in the global economy.
