Americans living overseas are faced with an increasingly complex system in which to manage their finances. Relatively straightforward tasks like investing, estate planning and even opening a bank account have become difficult and fraught with pitfalls. Special U.S. tax rules often apply to Americans living abroad and many expats have no idea how these rules affect them.

This event is designed to make you aware of your U.S. tax reporting responsibilities and help you structure your assets in the most efficient manner.

In this session we will discuss:
  • Estate planning and the pitfalls for Americans abroad
  • Special tax issues applicable to American expats (foreign bank accounts, ownership of foreign companies, etc.)
  • U.S. tax compliance disclosure options
  • Specific issues for Green Card holders
  • Tax inefficient investments (Passive Foreign Investment Companies)
  • Portfolio design for American expats

First 15-20 minutes will be networking
