Cultures aren’t new. They’ve been around since the dawn of mankind. But what is new is the degree to which different cultures interact. Globalization, together with the expansion of social media, has resulted in people being exposed more than ever to different norms and values, often vastly different ones.
Whether this is seen as an exciting opportunity to share and assimilate new ideas – or as a direct challenge to personal identity and deeply held beliefs – depends on one’s point of view.
But one thing is for sure, when different cultures meet there is the constant potential for misunderstanding and for disagreement.
This workshop examines the key differences between the world’s most prominent cultures, with a focus on Asia Pacific, and suggests strategies and techniques for enhancing harmony and productivity in multi-cultural organisations.
