About half of Hong Kong’s total energy end-use is on building electricity consumption. The existing buildings often do not perform at their optimal efficiency for various reasons. Retro-commissioning is a cost-effective and systematic process to periodically check and optimize a building’s energy performance. It could potentially bring significant cost saving to building owners and managers, as well support the Hong Kong’s Climate Action Plan in reducing carbon emission. It is an essential practice in sustainability as well as optimisation of asset lifecycle costs.
The event will cover the knowledge based and people driven practice of retro-commissioning as a building optimization means, its application and challenges met. The future of retro-commissioning, data-driven monitoring based commissioning or ongoing commissioning will be discussed, with practical cases.
