AmCham is pleased to introduce to members the Customs-to-Business partnership program initiated by the HKSAR Government to engage all stakeholders, such as manufacturers, importers, exporters, freight forwarders, warehouse operators and carriers involved in the international supply chain. This initiative – the Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) Programme – was launched in 2010 by the Hong Kong Customs to enhance international supply chain security and facilitate movement of legitimate goods.

Companies accredited by the programme will be recognized as a trusted partner of Hong Kong Customs. The AEO programme enables Hong Kong Customs to develop mutual recognition arrangements with other customs administrations, enhancing customs cooperation and movement of goods between and the global market. Hong Kong also ranks third worldwide in terms of the number of mutual recognition arrangements developed.

AmCham Members from the relevant industries would not want to miss this chance to learn about such a great initiative that fosters international trade.
