Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are the backbone of Hong Kong's economy. The Government has all along been providing different types of support to SMEs through various Government departments and quasi-Government bodies. To counter the challenging economic environment, the Government recently announced a package of measures to support enterprises, especially SMEs. The measures include raising awareness of various SME support measures, such as consolidating the services of existing SME Centres and providing information of all funding schemes at any service point.
To help SMEs understand and utilise the support services and the funding schemes, TID is organising a series of briefing sessions for various industrial and trade organisations. We will introduce the "four-in-one" integrated services of the SME Centres, including the "Support and Consultation Centre for SMEs" (SUCCESS) under the Trade and Industry Department (TID), the "SME Centre" under the Hong Kong Trade Development Council "SME One" under the Hong Kong Productivity Council and "TecONE" under the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation. There will also be a presentation of major funding schemes and the latest enhancement measures, to be followed by an on-site enquiry session.
