As the US-China trade war moves into the new decade, phase 1 of the trade deal has left China's industrial policy issues unaddressed. Meanwhile, the Chinese economy is likely to decelerate amid a global synchronized slowdown and geopolitical flashpoints. 2020 will also see China emerge as a "moderately prosperous society in all respects." Do such assertions imply a reduced emphasis by policymakers on the economic growth rate, or could inspirations of growth trump reform?

Sitao Xu, Chief Economist and Partner at Deloitte China, will share his predictions on China's economic outlook and policy responses.

Anticipated topics include

- Preview of the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021–25)

- China's economic reform in the next decade
