The American Chamber of Commerce's Environment & Sustainability Committee and the British Chamber of Commerce's Energy and Environment Committee jointly bring you "Climate change – how can the Task Force for Climate-related Financial Disclosure (TCFD) help Hong Kong businesses to manage the risks?"
As the physical effects of climate change as extreme weather events become more evident in Hong Kong and the region, the need to manage climate change risks in a systematic way is becoming more urgent. Transition risks relating to climate change can be more complex, and involve policy & regulation, technology, market and reputation risks. Hong Kong, as a major financial and commercial centre, is particularly exposed to these risks. How are leading Hong Kong businesses measuring and managing climate change risks, both physical and transitional? How much progress is being made on TCFD commitments and what are the practical issues to consider in implementing TCFD?
Our guest speaker for this event is Eric Dugelay, a member of the TCFD taskforce since its inception. He will share latest updates and future plans from the task force, as well as experiences from companies in implementing the TCFD framework.
Eric will be joined by speakers from some of Hong Kong's businesses that are taking the lead in implementing TCFD. As well as sharing their experiences, they will discuss initiatives from the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), the United Nations and ClimateWise.
Jointly hosted by AmCham Environment & Sustainability Committee and BritCham Energy & Environment Committee
