8:00-9:30am . Please join us as our panel of experts unpacks this issue – providing information about current trends in international school placements, enrollment and admissions. Through presentations and Q&A we will bust myths and get to the real deal about the availability of placements in international schools.
The availability of placements in Hong Kong’s international schools has long been a topic of discussion, and concern, in educational and business circles. The inability to secure a placement in a school of choice has a direct impact on the business community’s ability to relocate talent to Hong Kong, which is why this has been an area of ongoing focus for AmCham.
Through intentional advocacy efforts and dedicated communication with government bureaus, AmCham has ensured that this issue has remained in the forefront of Hong Kong’s collective consciousness. Data suggests that these efforts have been successful: between 2008 – 2013, over 6000 seats came on line in the international school sector, through new schools and organic expansion.  Still more spaces will be added in the coming years through three new schools and the expansion of two existing schools. Yet, the concern about the lack of available international school placements continues. What’s the real deal?
